Titanic at Depaul University is the 5th chapter in our growing family. With the assistance of Brian Biancardi, Katie Paul, and Chris Rife we hope to build to 4 groups on campus by 2015.
This year we have the pleasure of Julie Pearson as the Artistic Director on campus.
Julie Pearson got her start in improv as a member of the first ever Titanic team at the University of Wisconsin. She played with The Founders for four years, coached by Mike Abdelsayed. As a member of The Founders, she performed at iO Chicago, the UCB Theater in New York, Relapse Theater in Atlanta, as well as various universities around the country. While at Wisconsin, she co-directed the team Blown to Kingdom Come in their second and third years. She has trained at the iO Theater with many veteran improvisers including Susan Messing, Craig Uhlir, Christy Bonstell and Jason Shotts. Julie is also a member of Cor Res, a theater collective that uses improvisation to create longer written works. She directed their original piece, Gastrong! The Musical in January 2011 and continues to work on the script as an editor. Julie has a BA in theater with a focus in directing, and often stage manages productions around the city. In Chicago, Julie has remained active in Titanic’s sponsoring company, One Group Mind. She was on a team called Functioning Adults and directed the Andersonvillains in 2010. Currently, you can see Julie performing once a month at the Mayne Stage with her One Group Mind team, Juan Wants.
